Relationship Marketing will make money

This post is to talk about a trend in network marketing that is not new, but it is not being utilized. It is called relationship marketing. This means that you build a relationship with your prospect and make money with your prospect by taking the focus off of yourself as a person and involving yourself in a healthy business relationship with your prospect. Amway was one the companies to use relationship marketing way before the internet came to popularity. Leads, Relationships, and Money are all coincide with each other. They move in harmony with each other and developing a solid relationship with your prospects will make you wealthy, because you care. A person that is in business needs to know that you care about them and that you value their efforts on your team.


The only place that you cannot expect someone to care about your personal success is your job. They don't care if you make it or not, how you are feeling, or what is on your mind as long as you do your job. This is one of the main reasons that most people hate their jobs. Most people don't make enough money on their jobs to get things that they want and they are always trading time for dollars. The important thing to realize is that noone is going to pay you what you are worth to work for them. Most jobs pay you just enough to come back and do it all over again. Then to make matters worse, the job market is terrible. If you look at the news and see all of the layoffs, downsizing, and people losing money hand over fist, then you need to know that their is a lack of good relationships, which in turn will turn into a lack of money.

Selling vs Sharing

This post is comparing two important things in business opportunities today: Selling and Sharing Opportunities. The mistakes that we make as young entrepreneurs is that we are selling our opportunities instead of sharing our opportunities. We need to value people's time and we need to give people an opportunity to view why they need to use something instead of telling them that they need to use something. People want to feel comfortable with their decisions before they join an opportunity and they need to see the benefit of joining.

Selling and recruiting are almost identical when we are looking at business opportunities. People don't want to be sold on anything and closing is not a term that should be used. If you want long term success, you tell your potential prospect that you are sharing something with them and not selling something to them. People don't want to feel like they are closed or "sold" on any opportunity. You may be a recruiting machine, or a heavy hitter, but how does that benefit you in the long run. You will lose a ton of residual income by selling something to a prospect in a business fashion. Your prospect needs to know that you care about their success as an individual and that you are interested in their success and not your own "personal success". A smart network marketer knows that their success as a prospect is their success. It's all about building and maintaining relationships with your people.


Sharing is the correct thing to do. We live in the "Information Age" and sharing information is the key to success. We need to invest money in our business and in our people around us to build up their moral and to make sure that they are trying to be successful. If I know personally that you are interested me as a person instead of looking at me like I a $dollar sign to you, then I feel more comfortable in doing business with you. So let's share what we have to give and build our relationships and the money will come.
